Profile |
Biplobi Communist Party [Revolutionary Communist Party], popularly known as BCP, is an underground radical organization, which follows the revolutionary teachings of Mao Tse Tung. Its main motto is to establish an exploitation-free society by uprooting class enemies on the revolutionary line and ideology of Mao Tse Tung and Charu Majumder.
Area of Activities: As an underground armed group, BCP is operating mainly in southwestern districts like Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore, Narial, Kushtia, Meherpur, Chuadanga, and Jhenaidah. Its activities are also noted in Pabna and Rajshahi districts in the northern part of Bangladesh.
Recruitments: Like Janajuddho, unemployed and less educated youths belonging to lower stratum of the society comprise of the recruits of this outlawed group.
Leadership: The chief of BCP (name anonymous) is reportedly the most wanted listed criminal and prime accused in 33 criminal cases, including 12 for murder charges, filed with different police stations under Khulna division. The second-in-command, namely Deba Prashad Debu alias Nitish came to be arrested on September 08, 2003 on several charges of criminal activities. Earlier, in 1999, he surrendered to the police with arms to take advantage of the general amnesty granted by the then Awami League government.
Sources of Fund: Again like Janajuddho, the BCP drives its fund from similar sources such as ransom, extortions, construction works, shrimp gher, and contract killings and so on. |
