Bachelor of Arts (Hon) (1986) in International Relations from University of Karachi, Secured Second Division.

Presently working on Ph.D. on "Afghanistan after Soviet withdrawal 1991-1998."

Acting Editor, Pakistan Horizon, (Quarterly Research Journal of the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs, Karachi), 1991 to 1992.

FIELD OF SPECIALIZATION

Conflict Resolution and Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) particularly focuses on religious revivalism and State-Society relationship in South and Central Asian regions.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Attended the sessions on research methodology conducted by Professor Stephen Cohen, Director of the Program in Arms Control, Disarmament and International Security (ACDIS) University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, at Summer workshop on Defense, Technology and Cooperative Security in South Asia held in Sri Lanka, September 12-21, 1997.

HONORS  

  • Awarded a Scholarship to participate in a Summer workshop on "Defense and Cooperative Security in South Asia", organized by the Regional Center for Strategic Studies Colombo, Sri Lanka, September 12-21, 1997.
  • Certificate of Appreciation is awarded by the Vice-Chancellor, University of Karachi in recognition of my research papers published during July 1994 - June 1995.
